The old adage “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” holds more truth than you may think. Whether bombarded by electromagnetic fields (EMFs) or radiation from nuclear disasters, active compounds found in apples provide a remarkable health protective shield. As an affordable superfood, this readily available fruit is a near perfect snack for staying healthy in this toxic age.
Keep Radiation at Bay
Pectin is an incredible protective element. A gelatinous polysaccharide present in the skin of apples and other fruits, pectin helps to remove radioisotopes that have accumulated in tissues due to nuclear fallout. In the article “Why The Apple is One of The World’s Most Healing Superfoods”,; Sayer Ji explains the successful use of apple pectin for those exposed to high levels of radiation:
” … [Post-Chernobyl] apple pectin was used to reduce Cesium-137 levels in exposed children, in some cases by over 60%. From 1996 to 2007, a total of more than 160,000 Chernobyl children received pectin food additives. As a result, levels of Cs-137 in children’s organs decreased after each course of pectin additives by an average of 30-40%. Significant reductions were noted in as short a time period as 16 days. Apple pectin has even been found to prevent the most deadly, and entirely man-made radioisotope, Plutonium-239, from absorbing in the gastrointestinal tract of animals fed it.”
Caffeic acid is another compound found in apples that demonstrates radio-protective qualities. A study published in the 2008 Journal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology discovered caffeic acid protected against gamma radiation induced cellular mutations. When lymphocytes were treated with the acid and exposed to radiation, the cells remained healthy without any damage whatsoever.
Electromagnetic Pollution Pectin Detox
When exposed to EMFs, there is no better fruit than the apple to safeguard health. Caffeic acid comes to the rescue by diminishing free radical damage while pectin escorts heavy metals out of the system. Since heavy metals act as amplifiers of EMFs, it is important to minimize these toxins within the body. If you find yourself sensitive to electromagnetic radiation, heavy metals may be the cause.
Green apples are an outstanding source of pectin and consuming several each day will help to gently remove heavy metals over time. For a more intensive detoxification, concentrated pectin can be used — either commercially available varieties or homemade. Health food stores often carry contaminant free pectin geared specifically for cleanses. Natural News article, “Fruit Pectin Chelates Heavy Metals and Facilitates Drug Detox” recommends the following protocol:
“To use pectin, mix 2-4 teaspoons of dry pectin to an 8 oz. glass of grape juice once a day. Start with a lower dose of pectin until the body gets used to it and increase the amount slowly.
Continue taking pectin for a period from 2 weeks to 6 months to complete a drug detox or when chelating heavy metals. Indicators for completing the detox period are a reduction in symptoms. Although there is no such thing as a symptom-free detoxification during chelation therapy, if pectin is taken in small quantities over a period of time, overall health will return as energy increases and disease symptoms disappear.”
As a powerful healing food, apples are an exceptional choice in this modern era of toxic madness. Regardless of if you are partial to apples straight-up, cooked or pureed, enjoying this modest fruit is easy and affordable. And with all the protective benefits, what’s not to love?
